David started planning the greatest, and most romantic proposal months before getting on one knee. In fact, the proposal is the only surprise that David has ever been able to pull off on Norma! He contacted the JW Marriott in May to begin putting his ideas into action!

It happened on the Friday after Thanksgiving-our favorite holiday! David and Norma were allegedly headed to Ruth’s Chris Steakhouse downtown to celebrate his birthday a few days early. We got in the car, when David insisted we go to the hotel to check-in first. But since the hotel was in the opposite direction of the restaurant, in her typical fashion, Norma asked why they didn’t just check in later, to which David nervously replied “It’s just easier”. It was at this point where Norma started thinking that this could be “it”…

After checking-in to the resort and dropping off our bags in the room, Norma thought David was leading her back to the car via a shortcut through the grounds. Instead, David led her to a fire pit overlooking the hill country. Near the pit, he presented her with a wine bottle holding an incredibly romantic and touching letter he had written for her. (Norma is definitely crying at this point). As she finished reading the note, tears of pure joy streaming down her face in anticipation of what was coming next, David got down on one knee and asked the love of his life to join him forever in marriage. Between the tears and all the excitement, Norma said yes!
